During a time like this and with no sports going on, we are all in need of good news. There is a sports complex being built right now that sounds like a fantasy you create in a video game. In many ways, not to be cliche, it will be legendary.

We reached out to Casey Katofsky, the Executive Director of Operations of the Future Legends Sports Complex. The complex is scheduled to be finish by 2021. A facility like this, will without doubt produce and host many future legends. Casey was kind enough to provide all of us insight into the complex.

Overview of the Complex

The complex will be in Windsor, Colorado about a 40 minute drive from Denver. It is a 118-acre complex that will encompass all different sports, ages, and backgrounds of people.

There will be anywhere between two and three dozen youth sport fields. This will consist of:
  • Baseball/softball diamonds
  • Multi-purpose fields (Soccer, Football, Lacrosse, Etc.)
  • An interior bubble stadium (Will be the 3rd biggest bubble stadium in the country).
  • Dozen volleyball courts that can be converted into basketball courts.
  • Full-size indoor soccer field that can be turned into two baseball fields.
  • Outdoor stadium that can host up to three professional teams. Up to 6,000 people in seating (4,000 seat backs and couple thousand). For major concerts it could fit up to 15,000 people.
  • Two hotels on the complex outside of the outdoor stadium where half of the rooms will overlook the stadium so people can watch from their room.
  • Up to seven restaurants of walking distance on the complex. Also a retail center outside of the stadium that will have shopping options and restaurants.
  • Possibly an outdoor skating rink during the winter times.
  • A large multi-purpose arena dedicated to E-sports.

Casey Katofsky places importance in inclusion, “It is important that we specify how important it is that we build a facility that is for all ages, athletic ability, and backgrounds.” The complex will provide amenities that make it stand out from any other sports complex I have heard of. One of  Casey’s favorite parts of the complex, “We are building a 64 team room dormitory. Each room can fit up to twelve people and two coaches. For teams that come to play in our tournaments around the country they can stay in one location on the complex without worrying about having to book hotel rooms.”

Another project that Casey is excited about?

“One of our youth fields is dedicated to people of special needs and disabilities. We all have people or know people in our lives that may not have the same physical abilities as other people do. We want to make sure everyone feels like future legends. They will be able to participate and play in the same tournaments as everyone else.”

The idea of this sports complex comes from the passion that everyone involved for the past years has in providing the best experience for people of all ages, athletic skill, backgrounds, and sports. It has facilities for every single sport. Teams and people will not even have to leave the complex. There are restaurants, hotels, dormitories, and every field possible. Personally I cannot wait to visit the complex one day and who knows maybe even bring my future kids there.

Thank you to Casey Katofsky for taking the time to speak with me about the Future Legends Sports Complex!
